Examples of disillusioned Confederates

Disillusioned Confederates may not be Southern Unionists, but their actions might tell us something about just how deep their enthusiasm for the Confederacy really was. Take for example the Coffman brothers of Page County, Virginia. Despite having enlisted early in the war, their enthusiasm for “Cause” faded, and they were making their run for the North by February 1864. Take a look at this story at Page County Confederates.
